Steampunk Rifle WIP 1

Believe it or not, this started as 2 pieces of scrap 2x4 wood I had lying in the basement.

I glued the pieces together with some dowels in between for support, then drew on my design and cut it out with a jigsaw. (The shape of the stock is my design, and although I got inspiration from several other pieces, none were copied)

The time intensive part was shaping the stock appropriately, using a belt sander, and then a dremel and hand sanding it smooth until I was happy with it. You can see a few cut outs in the design, which are placeholders for all the steampunk odds and ends.

Next Up: Stain and varnish, then apply metal bits
