Fire Mando Gauntlets WIP 1

I have here the basic structure of the Right Gauntlet completed. This is just the base that I will add on the flamethrower and other greeblies.

Overall dimensions are about 4" in diameter and about 10" long. The gauntlet can open and close via two hinges, allowing a better, easier fit. I still need to figure out a way to keep them closed, but I left some overlapping pieces so it fits together nicely.

Materials: Constructed from 3" PVC pipe, heat formed wider than normal, and polystyrene sheet, heat formed by hand. Used 1" hinges from the hardware store attached to the polystyrene via pop rivets. I plan to take pics of the starting material pieces when I do the left gauntlet so you can see what I started with.

Interior lining is craft foam, which makes it nice, smooth, and comfy on the inside.

Next up: Design secure way to keep the gauntlet in closed position, finish Left Gauntlet base, and start construction on flamethrower weapon attachments.
